Jewelry!

May 21st, 2010

What girl doesn’t love it??

I used to love making jewelry. And then I started making pieces for my friends. And then I started selling some. And eventually, it got to be too much as I started my virtual assistant business.

However, recently I volunteered to make some pieces as donations to the Online International Virtual Assistant Convention. Here they are in the OIVAC colors -

I also had a glass tile pendant custom made by my sister – ScrappyCath for OIVAC with their logo .

All of her creations can be viewed at her store here – (You can also order your own custom made pendant!)

Bloggers – Have you Heard of Zemanta?

May 7th, 2010

Ok, so I’m new to blogging.  Obviously, as you can see this is my first blog.

However, in working day to day as a Virtual Assistant, I do quite a bit of blog updates for my clients.

It’s the kind of thing I really enjoy doing.  One day, I happened to be given some great advice by Jeniffer Thompson of Monkey C Media to check out a nifty tool called Zemanta.

Zemanta is a free tool that works on all platforms and can be downloaded as a Firefox extension.

No sooner did I download the Firefox extension and log into my clients blog that I noticed it was right there on the right hand side waiting patiently for me to start typing.  As soon as you start writing, Zemanta starts working.  It’s really an amazing little tool.  It captures what you are writing and suggests tags as well as related articles, pictures and in-text links.  It’s the little blogging brain working for you as you do the typing.  Almost like it’s watching over your shoulder and making suggestions.

Do you blog about books? Zemanta can recommend over 1.1 MILLION book titles as well as:

* Recognition and automatic linking to writer’s homepage
* Amazon.com integration – linking to Amazon.com listing for book and inclusion of book cover
* Amazon.com affiliate support
* Related articles from a wide selection of book bloggers

Do you blog about travel?  Zemanta has a simple one click insertion of Google Maps.

There is so much this great little tool can do that I could go on and on, but I will let you check it out for yourself.  http://www.zemanta.com/

Enjoy and Happy Blogging!
